Meri Ekola Volatiles, 2019

’Volatiles’ investigates the natural processes of the forests. Drawing upon planetary science / explore how volatiles, chemical elements or compounds emitted by all plants from leaf surfaces, function as mediators between plants and organisms – insects, fungi, herbivores or even humans. Volatiles normally stay invisible to the human eye because of their molecular size, however in the installation they will manifest through the medium of light.
