SWÄG low conflict, 2026
low conflict approaches peace as digital entropy and the subsidence of information. The space modeled with the Gaussian splatting technique is destructively disassembled towards a zero point, where data loses its cohesion and form dissolves into scattered light. When virtual material and its interfaces disappear, nothing rubs against anything anymore—the work makes peace a controlled entropic process where conflict ceases to exist.
At the core of the work is the idea that conflict requires friction, fixed boundaries, and elements rubbing against each other to arise. When material and information are disassembled to the zero point through entropy, confrontations subside. The destructive process does not appear as a violent or breaking gesture, but as a merciful and meditative surrender. low conflict suggests that true serenity and peace can be found when the digital world surrenders to its own ephemerality.
low conflict is part of the program Luodinkestävät kuvat curated by Reflektor. The artwork has been supported by Oskar Öflunds Foundation. The artwork premieres at Reflektor Sotkamo 2026.
*Entropy = The opposite of order and a physical quantity in physics. Matter and energy naturally tend toward higher entropy, or disorder. In information theory, entropy describes the uncertainty of messages and information, the breakdown of meaning, and noise.
