Camilla Vuorenmaa Dream is the same every night, 2025

uv-painting installation on plexiglass

As a child, I often had a recurring nightmare where I walked into a valley. At the bottom stood a house with all its win-dows and doors shut. We walked up and down the stairs with other children, constantly changing direction, as a mon-ster could appear from either end.

The installation draws on memories tied to childhood fears and nightmares. Dolls, family photos, flashers, and images from horror films and Alibi magazine blend into one another.

Camilla Vuorenmaa is known for her large-scale works that boldly combine painting and woodcut techniques. Vuoren-maa explores themes such as human and animal gestures and expressions, interpersonal dynamics, and the relation-ship between individuals and their communities.
